WORLD CLASS EXPAT TAX SERVICE

Smile! You are done for another year.

Filing your expat taxes doesn’t have to be stressful.

Expat Taxes for educators, non profit & charity workers

Due to the unique nature of the United States having citizenship based tax law, most US citizens living and working overseas will be required to file their US taxes annually.

Our highly experienced team of qualified IRS enrolled agents have a strong background working with US expat taxes – we only serve US citizen expats who are, or have recently been based overseas.

Additional reporting requirements

Compared with a regular US domestic filing, there is an added layer of complexity with expat US filings, as well as potential additional reporting requirements.

Typically there are different Forms and filing options in a US expat filing compared with a domestic filing. Which Forms are used will depend on the US taxpayer’s individual circumstances – e.g. which country they reside in, how they are paid by their employer and if they pay taxes locally, whether they contribute to a local pension, have non US bank accounts and so on.

We offer world class tax prep and keep our fees low.

Our fee to prepare your Federal tax return is lower than most of our competitors because we are more selective about the clients we work with.

Our clients have relatively straight forward tax profiles that do not require a lot of expensive and time consuming consultation.

Many expat tax firms offer flat fees, but they tend to be higher than ours because they have to factor in working with clients that have very complicated tax needs. We avoid those clients and we pass the savings on to you.

Who we work with (and who we don't!)

Our clients typically fall into the following categories:

    • Educators working in international schools
    • Employees of non profits posted overseas
    • Retirees
    • Digital Nomads (with FORM 1099-NEC)

We cannot help with the following:

    • Self-employment income
    • Deferred employee compensation e.g. stock options, restricted stock units, deferred bonus
    • Income from foreign (non US) investments eg foreign mutual funds, foreign partnerships, foreign trusts or foreign profit sharing plans
    • Receipt of a gift or inheritance from a foreign person of more than $100,000
    • Income from a foreign (non US) pension
    • Sale of foreign (non US) assets
    • Self invested personal pension
